How To Make Chilli Cheese Dog Recipe
These Chilli Cheese Dogs are the BEST I’ve ever made! They’re easy to make and delicious, perfect for any occasion, party or game night!
Chilli cheese dogs are a classic Southern dish and these delicious chilli dogs are made with a unique and amazing chilli, that is incredibly addictive. They’re perfect for game night or any party, and they’ll be a hit with yourself and anyone you serve them to.
Ingredients –
2 tsp (10ml) – Olive Oil
300g (10.58oz) – Beef Mince (Ground Beef), I Used 80% Lean
1 – White Onion, 1/2 Large Diced, 1/2 Small Diced (Small Diced Used For Garnish)
2 – Garlic Cloves, Minced
1 Tbsp (7g) – Ground Cumin
1/2 tsp (1.5g) – Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp (2.5g) – Smoked Paprika
1 tsp (2.5g) – Mustard Powder
2 1/2 tsp (15ml) – Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tsp (6g) – Brown Sugar
1 tsp (2g) – Ground All Spice
2 Tbsp (30g) – Tomato Ketchup
2 tsp (15g) – Yellow Mustard (American Mustard)
3/4 Cup (100g) – Concentrated Tomato Paste
3/4 Cup (180ml) – Beef Stock
Seasoning To Taste
4 – Cheese Kransky’s or Sausage of Choice
4 – Hot Dog Rolls of Choice
Cheese of Choice (I Used American Cheddar)
2 – Dill Pickles, Diced For Garnish
Flat Leaf Parsley (Optional)
Notes –
Kranskies are derived from the Slovenian words “Kranjska Klobasa,” which is the name for a pork sausage from Kranjska. They’re made from pork, beef and garlic and in this case, cheese.
You can use any sausage you prefer but if you choose a raw product, it will need to be cooked prior to placing it in the bun. If so, pan fry, air fry or bake in the oven until cooked through and follow the recipe as per instructions. For the best flavour results, I highly recommend a cured and/or smoked sausage.
You can use whichever cheese you like. I opted for American cheddar to give it a little authenticity but mozzarella, Monterey Jack and regular cheddar cheese work perfectly well too.
This recipe can be made gluten-free ensuring you use GF-friendly sausages and buns.
